B as in Beauty

What drew me to this book was the pretty cover. I'd like to stress out that I am such a sucker for books with pretty covers. I then read the synopsis at the back, that's it.. I'm sold. Basically, the book is about how B (the main character) got to appreciate her beauty through a very interesting journey. The book started out with a typical scenario of a girl who's sort of a pushover (but sassier) at work and who is also jaded of her uneventful life. At that point, I started to predict how the story would be "just another chick lit" but boy was I hella (!!!) wrong.

As I got through a third of the book, I found myself drowning and gasping for air. It was that intense because I could not quite wrap my head on the thought of how peculiar the turn of events was. To put it bluntly, my mind was completely blown away.

This is such an honest, poignant, and unexpected novel. One can get to explore just how people sometimes go through great lengths for "indulgence." And trust me when I say, "interesting" because my brand of interesting can be kooky.
